Sixth Assembly of Educateurs sans Frontieres (EsF)

We are pleased to announce that the Sixth Assembly of Educateurs sans Frontières (EsF) will be held in Stellenbosch, South Africa from 4-18 August, 2018. The theme for this Assembly is Strengthening Communities for a Sustainable Future.

Bringing the EsF Assembly to South Africa enables us to explore exciting topics related to education for social change. Having the Sustainability Institute as the host location allows for exploration of the links between sustainable living and community engagement in relation to Montessori education for a better world.

EsF is a division of the Association Montessori Internationale that was created in 1999 by Renilde Montessori to revisit, within the 21st century context, some key social reform aspects of Montessori’s pioneering educational principles that were first introduced in 1907. The EsF Assembly is a unique two-week retreat for an international group of people who support children and families to flourish in all kinds of communities by applying Montessori principles outside, as well as within, formal education.
